The Kelowna Gang Enforcement Team (KGET) arrested an individual in connection with drug trafficking and weapons offences following a proactive patrol in Kelowna.
On April 28, 2026, KGET officers were conducting patrols in the area of KLO Road and Benvoulin Road when they engaged with an individual in a parked vehicle. The individual was identified as a person of interest in an ongoing drug trafficking investigation, with suspected connections to the Lower Mainland and organized crime.
During the interaction, officers located a prohibited weapon concealed on the individual. The individual was arrested for possession of a prohibited weapon.
A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed indicators of an aftermarket hidden compartment. Such compartments are designed to conceal items from view and are frequently encountered in organized drug trafficking investigations. Upon accessing the compartment, officers seized approximately 731 grams of suspected illicit drugs, believed to include cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine, along with a cellular phone and approximately $3,000 in cash.

The individual was later released pending further investigation and the vehicle was seized.
“Drug trafficking poses a serious risk to community safety,” said Corporal Matt Hare of the Kelowna Gang Enforcement Team. “We will continue to take enforcement action to disrupt those involved in bringing illegal drugs into Kelowna and reduce the harm they cause.”
