A 33-year-old Alberta man has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder following the deaths of an 18-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man inside a Langley residence last month.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) announced Monday that Cregg Lafferty-Tuccaro, 33, was arrested on May 3 and formally charged on May 4 in connection with the killings. He has no prior police history in British Columbia.
Police were first called to the 21000 block of 16 Avenue in Langley on April 27 at approximately 11:16 a.m. after a report of a suspicious incident. Officers from Langley RCMP, along with the Township of Langley Fire Department and BC Ambulance Services, responded to the scene and discovered two deceased individuals inside a residence.
The victims have been identified as an 18-year-old young woman and a 33-year-old man who lived together at the home. Their names are being withheld by police to protect their families’ privacy and because investigators say the information is not needed to advance the case.
Over the past week, IHIT conducted an extensive neighbourhood canvass, interviewed multiple witnesses, and followed up on tips from the public — leading to Lafferty-Tuccaro’s identification and arrest.
Investigators believe the incident was isolated and that all parties were known to each other.
“This was a tragic incident and our hearts break for the victims’ families as they grieve the sudden loss of their loved ones,” said Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT. “Our thoughts are with them as well as the first responders and support workers who responded to this call. Through teamwork and persistence, IHIT investigators gathered the evidence needed to secure charges, which we hope will support the healing of those impacted.”
Lafferty-Tuccaro has been detained by the court and is scheduled to make his next appearance on May 11, 2026.
The investigation was conducted in partnership with Langley RCMP, Integrated Forensic Identification Services (IFIS), and the BC Coroners Service.
