A 49-year-old Duncan man has now been charged after a year-long BC Highway Patrol investigation into a deadly collision on Highway 1 on Vancouver Island.
On March 1, 2025, just after 7 p.m., a black Dodge Ram pickup collided with a blue Dodge Ram in the northbound lanes of Highway 1 and Boys Road in Duncan. The 72-year-old Duncan man who was driving the blue Dodge Ram was seriously injured while his 62-year-old passenger, a Victoria man, was killed.
On April 18, 2026, the alleged driver of the black Dodge Ram, 49-year-old Iain Lemon of Duncan, was charged with mpaired driving causing death, impaired driving causing bodily harm, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.
Lemon’s next court appearance is scheduled in Duncan Provincial Court for May 26, 2026.
