The family of Tanya Myers, a 44-year-old woman who tragically died on September 12 near Weyburn, is breaking their silence with a public appeal for information and a request for privacy as they grapple with their profound loss.
In a heartfelt statement issued to news agencies, the family described Myers as an “amazing energy healer and animal lover,” who was a devoted mother to her nine cats. They emphasized that her rare trip out of town that day was related to her interests in energy healing and shopping for her pets.
“She rarely left home because she had an extensive care routine for her kitties,” the statement read, making her final journey an unusual occurrence.
The family’s grief is palpable in their words, expressing the deep void left by her passing. “We are all in shock and disbelief,” the statement continues. “The loss of Tanya leaves a giant gaping hole in our lives and her cats’ lives, who are all wondering where their mom has gone.”
Struggling to comprehend the circumstances surrounding her death, the family firmly stated, “She did not have anything to do with the way she left us. She kept to herself and looked after her fur babies.”
In a direct and emotional appeal, the family addressed those responsible: “To the person or persons responsible – please grow a conscience and take responsibility for your actions. Tanya deserves justice and her family deserves answers.”
The Myers family is urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist the ongoing investigation.
Concluding their statement, they reiterated a need for space to mourn, asking for privacy for both Tanya’s family and the family of Andrea, another individual believed to be connected to the case. “The family asks that you please give us and Andrea’s family privacy at this difficult time.”
Authorities have not released further details regarding the investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the local RCMP detachment.
