A Laval police officer, Anthony De Melo, 46, who was suspended earlier this year was charged with child luring at the Valleyfield courthouse on Thursday.
He is charged with two counts related to the same minor. The alleged offences took place in Châteauguay between Feb. 13 and March 1. He was charged with child luring and making sexually explicit material available to a child.
In March, Laval police said they had arrested and suspended one of its own officers following a report that an officer had been duped by online vigilantes who claim to target pedophiles.
