Three Burnaby RCMP Gang Enforcement Team (BGET) traffic stops in a span of nine days resulted in the seizure of two vehicles, multiple weapons, over a kilogram of miscellaneous illicit drugs, more than $63,000 in cash and much more.
Stop #1:
On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, BGET initiated a traffic stop on a Porsche around Beresford Street and McKay Avenue. Observations made by the officers resulted in the arrest of the occupant, and a subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 55 cartons of illegal cigarettes and nearly $16,000 in cash.

Stop #2:
On Monday, July 14, 2025, while proactively patrolling around Boundary Road and Canada Way, BGET officers conducted a traffic stop on a Tesla. The driver was noted as having a criminal drug trafficking history. Observations made by the officers resulted in the arrest of the occupant, and a subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of the vehicle, two cellular phones, a collapsible baton, miscellaneous illicit drugs and over $4,000 in cash.

Stop #3:
On Wednesday, July 16, 2025, BGET officers pulled a vehicle over on Imperial Street near Gray Avenue. The driver had a criminal drug trafficking history as well as assault with a weapon. Observations made by the officers resulted in the arrest of the occupant, and a subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of the vehicle, two cellular phones, two knives, over a kilogram of miscellaneous illicit drugs and nearly $44,000 in cash.

Officers continue to investigate all three incidents. All appropriate charges will be forwarded at the conclusion of these investigations.
