York Regional Police charged 34-year-old Zhaoyu LI, from Markham, with first-degree murder in the death of 34-year-old Xu Guo from British Columbia.
On Nov. 26, at 10:47 p.m., York Regional Police received an unknown trouble call at a home on Gillingham Avenue. When officers arrived on scene, they found a man with serious injuries and a woman deceased.
A post mortem examination is expected to occur in the coming days.
