CALGARY, Alta., — Calgary Police said on June 16 that. they have charged a woman with seven offences after locating more than $150,000 of stolen lululemon merchandise. She is also accused of possessing drugs, cash and other stolen property, during a search of a northeast Calgary residence.
On May 20, at approximately 7:55 a.m., police attended a residence in the 300 block of Herron Mews N.E. to conduct a curfew compliance check. The resident failed to answer the door, placing her in breach of court-ordered release conditions.
The following morning, on May 21, at about 9:45 a.m., officers returned to the residence to execute an arrest warrant for the breach. The suspect exited the residence and was taken into custody.
While inside the residence, officers observed drugs, cash and suspected stolen property in plain view. The home was secured and a search warrant was obtained and executed later the same day.
The following items were located and seized:
- Stolen lululemon merchandise, with an estimated value of more than $150,000, believed to have been stolen during transport.
- More than $10,000 cash
- 430 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $8,660
- Six grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $610
- 380 grams of cutting agent
- 24 packages of illegal tobacco
- 12 rounds of live pistol ammunition
- Dozens of suspected stolen identification documents
- Property linked to previously reported break-ins, including perfume, beauty products and a coin collection
Cassandra Ruby Stonge, 35, of Calgary, has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of stolen property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of stolen property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, possession of an identity document, and possession of a prohibited weapon.
She will next appear in court on June 19.
