The Guelph Police Service believe there may be more victims in relation to an ongoing sexual assault investigation.
In March, the Guelph Police Service began a sexual assault investigation involving a 47-year-old Cambridge man, Trevor Bettschen. As a result of the investigation, Bettschen was arrested on March 15 and charged with the following offences:
- Sexual Assault Causing Bodily Harm – Strangulation
- Sexual Assault Causing Bodily Harm
- Forcible Confinement
Bettschen remains in custody on these charges.
On Aug. 29, Bettschen was further charged in connection with a second adult victim.
Police believe that Bettschen deliberately targets individuals associated with the sex trade.
Investigators have also identified that Bettschen used a 2020 Nissan Murano, similar to the one pictured, during the commission of recent offences. Prior to October 2024, police believe Bettschen was using a different, unknown vehicle.

The Guelph Police Service is concerned there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward.
