Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit charged Christopher Erickson, 56, of Winnipeg, with second-degree murder in the death of 30-year-old Brenton Sean Paul Harper who was a member of Garden Hill First Nation and resided in Winnipeg.
On April 22, homicide investigators, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team (TST) attended to a parking lot in the 1100 block of Rothesay Street and arrested Erickson without incident.
On April 1, at approximately 12:55 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of shots fired in the 400 block of Agnes Street.
Central District General Patrol officers attended and located an adult male victim with injuries consistent with being shot. Officers provided emergency first aid before the victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition. He died in hospital.
