Const. Daniel Leclerc, 39, is charged with theft under $5,000. He appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice on Nov. 14.
Toronto Police, in a media release, said a man walked into a store and selected three bottles of alcohol just before 3:30 p.m. on Friday and allegedly exited the store with the alcohol without paying.
Leclerc has been a Toronto Police officer for 18 years and has been suspended with pay.
