Imran Khan, a Constable with six years of service is suspended with pay
CALGARY, Alta., — Following an investigation by the Calgary Police Service Professional Standards Section, a sworn member of the Calgary Police Service has been charged with assault following an arrest.
On Friday, May 22, 2025, members responded to a call for service. During which, it is alleged that one member used excessive force following the arrest of an individual by striking them multiple times with a closed fist.
Following review and consultation with the Edmonton Crown Prosecutor’s Office, a charge against the officer was recommended.
Imran Khan, a Constable with six years of service, has been charged with assault and is currently suspended with pay while his status is reviewed.
He was released from custody and will next appear in court on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026.
