CALGARY, Alta., — Calgary police have charged one man and one youth following a traffic stop in northeast Calgary that resulted in the seizure of more than 840 grams of suspected drugs, ammunition and cash.
On July 1, at approximately 5:25 p.m., officers conducting patrols in the area of 68 Street N.E. and McKnight Boulevard N.E. stopped a vehicle after determining the registered owner was wanted on Traffic Safety Act offences. Although the registered owner was later confirmed not to be one of the vehicle’s occupants, officers located a significant quantity of drugs concealed in several hidden compartments and storage areas.
Officers seized over 800 grams of drugs, including 738.5 grams of suspected cocaine and 104.3 grams of suspected fentanyl, with an estimated street value of about $43,000. Officers also seized $1,040 in cash and 44 rounds of 9 mm ammunition.
As a result, Natale Mahder TESFE, 18, has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. He appeared in court today, July 6, 2026.
A 17-year-old male, who cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of failure to comply with a sentence or disposition. The youth will next appear in court on Friday, July 17, 2026.
