WINNIPEG, Man. — Police have arrested a suspect in the 2023 murder of a 24-year-old man. Skylar Rain Gamblin, 21, was taken into custody Tuesday morning and charged with second-degree murder.
The Winnipeg Police Service’s Homicide Unit located and arrested Gamblin just before 9:30 a.m. in the area of Kennedy Street and St. Mary Avenue. He was detained in custody.
The investigation started on Oct. 14, 2023, when officers responded to a report of a male down on a sidewalk in the 300 block of Keenleyside Street at about 11:20 p.m.
East District General Patrol officers found a man with serious injuries. He was taken to hospital but later pronounced deceased. The victim was identified as Joseph Robert Campbell, 24, of Winnipeg.
