Update: RCMP arrest Valance Wapass

Update: Valance Wapass was arrested by Lloydminster RCMP in Lloydminster on Aug. 14, 2024.

A tip from the public that resulted from media coverage helped investigators locate and arrest him. Saskatchewan RCMP thanks members of the media and the public for their assistance in this investigation.

He is next scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Aug. 20, 2024.

Saskatchewan RCMP is looking for 39-year-old Valance Wapass from Onion Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan.

Valance Wapass is wanted on charges including assault causing bodily harm. Warrants have been issued for his arrest. The Saskatchewan RCMP is actively looking to locate and arrest him.

Investigators are asking the public to report all sightings and information on the whereabouts of Valance Wapass.

Valance Wapass is described as 6’2″ and 205 lbs. He has brown eyes and short black hair. He has a large visible injury on his face.  He has his last name tattooed on his upper left arm and a feather tattooed on his left wrist.

Valance Wapass is known to travel to the communities of Thunderchild First Nation, Onion Lake Cree Nation, and Lloydminster. He may be travelling in a white coloured minivan.
