A Canada‑wide warrant has been issued for a 24‑year‑old man accused in the 2024 murder of Surrey woman Navdeep Kaur, following a two‑year investigation that began when she was first reported missing.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is asking the public to help locate Amarbir Singh, who is now charged with second‑degree murder in Kaur’s death. Investigators say Singh and Kaur were in a relationship at the time she disappeared.
Kaur was last seen on Feb. 22, 2024, around 10:30 p.m. in the 7800‑block of 123 Street in Surrey. Her family reported her missing the next day. Surrey RCMP’s Missing Persons Unit launched an extensive search, and evidence gathered early in the investigation led police to believe she had been the victim of foul play. IHIT took over the case in March 2024, working with Surrey RCMP and forensic specialists to build a timeline and search multiple locations.
On July 23, 2024, police located human remains later confirmed to be Kaur.
Over the months that followed, investigators examined evidence from several scenes and submitted a charge recommendation to the BC Prosecution Service. On March 6, 2026, a murder charge was approved against Singh.
IHIT says Singh may have fled Canada.
“We are aware that Mr. Singh may have fled the country, but that will not stop us from pursuing him,” says Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT. “We will continue to actively track him down and we are fully prepared to work with our law enforcement counterparts overseas to bring him before the Court.”
Anyone with information on Singh’s whereabouts is asked to contact IHIT at 1‑877‑551‑IHIT (4448) or by email.
