West Shore RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying this fraud suspect. Police are investigating a “quick change” fraud that took place on November 25, 2025, at approximately 10:00 a.m. at a business located near the 800 block of Langford Parkway, Langford.
A “quick change” fraud is when a suspect confuses the cashier into giving back more money then they were given for the purchase. In this type of fraud typically the fraudster pays for a low-cost item with a high denomination bill. While the cashier is making the change, the fraudster quickly asks the cashier for different denominations or presents more money and confuses the cashier into handing back more cash.
Police are looking to identify this fraud suspect who is alleged to have engaged in this type of fraud.
Suspect description:
- Dark skinned male in his 40’s;
- Slim build;
- Black hair with receding hairline;
- Wearing a black jacket with a white hoodie underneath, dark jeans and black shoes.

Here are some tips on how to keep your business safe from this type of fraud:
- Educate your employees on recognizing this type of fraud;
- Create a company policy to not accept large denomination bills;
- Encourage your employees to slow down the transaction and call for a supervisor or another employee when they feel a transaction is becoming overwhelming and confusing.
