On November 10, 2025, 48-year-old Christopher Fillingham entered a guilty plea to unauthorized possession of a loaded restricted firearm. He was subsequently sentenced to three years in jail in the Supreme Court of British Columbia in Kamloops. The court also imposed a lifetime firearms prohibition and a DNA order.
The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC) said the investigation was conducted by its Uniform Gang Enforcement Team (UGET).
On March 22, 2024, CFSEU-BC UGET officers initiated a traffic stop in Kamloops after observing an electric motorbike commit multiple traffic violations. The driver failed to stop for police and was arrested a short time later.
A subsequent search of the accused led to the seizure of illicit drugs, cash and the following:
• A Girsan semi-automatic pistol
• Six rounds of 9mm ammunition
• Pistol magazine and holster

The accused was identified as 48-year-old Christopher Fillingham of Valemount, BC. Officers then determined he was subject to a court-ordered weapons prohibition at the time of this incident.
In October 2024, the BC Prosecution Service approved two charges against Fillingham, unauthorized possession of a loaded restricted firearm and possession of a restricted firearm while prohibited.
