On May 14, 2025, as part of an on-going investigation, Ste. Rose du Lac and Winnipegosis RCMP along with assistance from Manitoba RCMP Police Dog Services (PDS), executed a warrant to enter a dwelling at a residence in Crane River First Nation.
After gaining access to the residence, officers were informed a wanted male was hiding in a crawl space.
Officers informed the male that he was under arrest and despite several warnings and commands to surrender, the male refused to comply. Further assessment of the situation revealed the male was armed with a firearm.
Due to the high-risk situation, PDS Marook along with his handler were called in and located the suspect hiding under several items. The suspect was taken into custody with minor injuries.
Marcus Cain Thompson, 21, of Ebb and Flow First Nation, was Wanted for the following charges:
– Fail To Comply with Probation Order
– Pointing a Firearm
– Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purposes
– Flight from Police
– Resisting Arrest
Thompson is remanded into custody.
