Calgary Police have charged a student massage therapist with sexual assault after it is believed he inappropriately touched a client during a massage while he was undergoing training at a local teaching clinic.
On April 14, 2025, Harshdeep Singh, 21, of Calgary, was charged with one count of sexual assault in relation to this incident.
He will next appear in court on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, the victim attended the Professional Institute of Management and Technology’s massage therapy clinic, located at 1422 Kensington Rd. N.W., for a massage.
A student in his second year with the clinic was scheduled to complete the massage. Throughout the appointment, it is believed the student massage therapist inappropriately touched the victim several times, leaving her feeling uncomfortable.
At the end of the appointment, the victim approached clinic staff to report the incident and the organization began an internal investigation.
The incident was subsequently reported to police, and as a result of our investigation, the student massage therapist was charged. It is believed the student attended the teaching clinic from January 2024 to March 2025.
In Canada, there is no time limit on reporting a sexual assault. Anyone who believes they are a victim of sexual assault is encouraged to report it, even if many years have passed since the incident.
