PEI RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit has arrested and charged 30-year-old Dylan Kurt Macdonald of East Royalty for making child pornography.
On February 3, 2025, RCMP executed a search warrant and arrested Dylan Kurt Macdonald.
Macdonald has been released from custody with conditions and will appear in Provincial court on March 20, 2025 to face charges of making child pornography, two counts of possession of child pornography, and sexual interference.
“The exploitation of children is a serious offence that has lasting impacts on victims, their families, and the broader community,” said Chief Superintendent Kevin Lewis – Commanding Officer PEI RCMP. “Our team and the specialized units that work on these cases remain steadfast in their commitment to thoroughly investigate crimes of this nature with a victim-centered approach. Our priority is to protect the most vulnerable, uphold their dignity and that of their family, while working to ensure their well-being throughout the judicial process.”
This RCMP Internet Child Exploitation Unit investigation was completed with assistance from the RCMP Major Crime Unit, the Provincial General Investigations Section, the PEI RCMP Digital Forensic Section, Prince District RCMP and the Queens District RCMP.
