York Regional Police say charges have been laid by the York Regional Police #1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau against two healthcare workers for fraud related offences in the Town of Newmarket.
On August 22, 2024, an elderly victim reported to police that a large amount of money had been withdrawn from their bank account without their knowledge. After a thorough investigation, it was learned that two suspects, one of whom was employed to care for the victim, accessed their banking information.
The suspects attended various financial institutions and withdrew nearly $1 million dollars.


On February 6, 2025, Juvie MAPUTOL, 38, and Lloyd MAPUTOL, 37, both of the City of Richmond Hill, were charged with numerous fraud related offences.
Lloyd MAPUTOL is currently practicing as a Registered Nurse and Juvie MAPUTOL is employed as a Personal Support Worker.
Juvie Maputol is charged with:
- Theft by Person Holding Power of Attorney
- Theft Over $5,000
- Misappropriation of Money Held Under Direction
- Fraud Over $5,000
- Fraudulent Concealment
- Theft, Forgery of Credit Card x3
- Unauthorized Use of Computer x2
- Identity Theft x3
- Identity Fraud x3
- Laundering Proceeds of Crime
Lloyd Maputol is charged with:
- Fraud Over $5,000
- Theft Over $5,000
- Laundering Proceeds of Crime
Investigators are releasing their photos as they believe there to be more victims.
