Kitscoty RCMP charged Troy Paul Wade Campbell, 33, of Lloydminster in connection to a commercial break and enter on Feb. 2 where a Polaris Side x Side, along with a flat deck trailer, had been reported stolen.
The side x side was equipped with a GPS and pinging to a rural property South of Lloydminster, Alta. An investigation between Kitscoty RCMP and Vermilion RCMP, with help from Vermilion Traffic Services, led to the side-by-side and flat deck trailer being recovered, and Campbell arrested.
Campbell is charged with possession of property over $5,000, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a controlled substance, and failing to comply with release conditions.
Campbell was brought before a justice of the peace and released on conditions. He appears at the Alberta Court of Justice in Lloydminster on March 5.
“In less than 12 hours, the victim’s side by side was stolen and repainted,” said Cpl. Brian Weisbrod, Acting Detachment Commander Kitscoty RCMP.
“The successful conclusion to this investigation is due to the victim taking his own steps to safe guard his property with GPS tracking and the team work demonstrated by the Kitscoty and Vermilion Detachments along with Vermilion Traffic Services.”
