Toronto police have ruled the death of two children as homicides. They have charged Vanessa Collias, 25, of Toronto, with two counts of first-degree murder.
On Sunday, Dec. 10, at approximately 7:31 p.m., police responded to a call for an unknown trouble at 5 Glamorgan Avenue.
When police arrived at the scene, they found a woman on the ground, outside of an apartment building with injuries. They say the injuries were the result of a fall from a balcony.
Inside the apartment, police found two children, a 4-year-old boy and a 5-year-old boy, without a pulse. They were taken to hospital where they were pronounced deceased.

At the time, Vanessa was taken to hospital with serious injuries, and remains in serious condition.
The boys were named Yiani and Mimi. Their father, Gus, died from cancer about two weeks ago.
Neighbours described Vanessa as police, pleasant, quiet, and private.
A neighbour heard the commotion and saw Vanessa on the ground. Then he told media. That he heard them doing CPR on the two little boys inside.
On Dec. 4, a week before the murders and suicide attempt, Vanessa had set up a GoFundMe page and said that Costa “sadly passed away Friday Dec. 1 after a short stay in hospital battling an extremely aggressive form of leukemia and a sepsis infection.”

Her GoFundMe said: “Vanessa finds herself in the challenging role of being a single parent. Yiannis and Mimi are rambunctious little boys that will miss their dad a lot. The goal is to raise funds to provide the boys with the resources they need as they grow up and support them during this very difficult time.”
About $1,410 was raised towards Vanessa’s $10,000 goal.
