New Brunswick RCMP still investigating teens disappearance seven years later

The New Brunswick RCMP continues to investigate the disappearance of a 17-year-old boy from St. Stephen, and is renewing it’s appeal to the public for information on the seventh anniversary of his disappearance.

17-year-old Brayden Thibault was last seen on the afternoon of July 31, 2017, on Gibson Street on the northside of Fredericton. Over the last seven years, police have followed up on many investigative leads but have been unsuccessful in locating him.

Brayden Thibault’s disappearance had been considered suspicious, and in July of 2019 RCMP Major Crimes started investigating it as a homicide.

“Today marks seven years that Brayden has been gone and his family has been seeking answers and closure,” says Cpl. Hans Ouellette of the New Brunswick RCMP. “We want to give them that closure. We know that there are people who know what happened to Brayden and people that can help us bring him home. We are asking those people to do the right thing and contact police or Crime Stoppers.”

Anyone with information on the disappearance and death of Brayden Thibault is asked to contact the New Brunswick RCMP’s Major Crime Unit at 1-888-506-7267. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca or by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
