STONY PLAIN, Alta., — A 1,000‑pound antique safe vanishing from a residential property isn’t your everyday theft and police are asking the public’s help locating it.
On May 1, Parkland RCMP received a report that a vintage 1,000 pound Winnipeg Safeworks brand safe was stolen from a residence near 52nd avenue in Stony Plain.
The theft is believed to have occurred between April 25 and May 1, 2026. A witness reported that on either April 27 or 28, they observed a dark coloured truck with a trailer using a winch to load the safe onto the trailer.
Police are requesting that anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the safe or its contents please contact the Parkland RCMP non-emergency line at 825-220-7267.
