Thanh True Tran, aka Kayla, arrested
Calgary police have charged an employee of a Shawnessy nail salon and spa with sexual assault in relation to an incident involving a customer in January 2026.
On Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, the victim received a waxing service at Shawnessy Nails Time Spa, located at 140-70 Shawville Blvd. S.E. It is believed that during the appointment, an employee performing the service touched the victim in a sexual manner without consent.
As a result of the investigation, Thanh True TRAN, who also goes by Kayla, 41, has been charged with one count of sexual assault.
Tran is scheduled to appear in court on April 9, 2026.
In Canada, there is no time limit on reporting a sexual assault. Anyone who believes they are a victim of sexual assault is encouraged to report it, even if many years have passed since the incident.
