On May 8, 2026, RCMP officers from the Selkirk General Investigative Section (GIS), along with the Selkirk Detachment, the Manitoba East District Crime Reduction Enforcement Team and the Emergency Response Team, attended to a Vaughan Avenue residence and executed a search warrant for firearms.
Police arrested four individuals inside the residence without incident. They were later released without charge.
Officers located numerous firearms and ammunition during the search. All the firearms were unsafely stored and readily accessible. The firearms seized included:
- One prohibited .22 calibre revolver
- One semi-automatic tactical style rifle with three prohibited magazines
- One semi-automatic SKS rifle
- One lever action rifle
- Various calibres of ammunition
Selkirk GIS didn’t provide additional information but say they continue to investigate.
