On March 26, Parkland RCMP were notified after a sighting of a stolen Chevrolet Silverado in the Onoway, Alta, area. A short time later, the vehicle was used in a theft in Gunn, Alta, where the occupants fled towards Alberta Beach at a high rate of speed.
The Community Response Team attended and located the stolen Chevrolet Silverado in the area of 60th street in Alberta Beach. The three occupants of the vehicle were arrested without further incident.
As a result of the investigation, police seized a large quantity of methamphetamine, cocaine, drug paraphernalia and brass knuckles from the three accused individuals.
Upon further investigation, one of the accused was determined to be involved in an earlier robbery which occurred in Spruce Grove near Century road, where they attempted to steal a vehicle.
Taylor Kootenay, (32), of Edmonton, has been charged with robbery, possession of property obtained by crime, and driving while unauthorized.
Keish Monias, (30), of Edmonton, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime, and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.
Kelsey Bearhead, (29), a resident of Duffield, has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime.
Taylor Kootenay and Kiesha Monias were both remanded into custody with their next court appearances on Mar. 30, 2026 at the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Albert.
Kelsey Bearhead was brought before a Justice of the Peace and released with his next court appearance on Apr. 15, 2026 at the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Albert.
