Calgary Police have charged Winston Campbell, 45, of Calgary, with manslaughter in relation to the death of Olivia Hayden.
On April 17, 2024, Campbell was arrested and taken into custody in relation to this incident. He appeared in court April 19, 2024.
At approximately 2:15 a.m., on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022, Calgary Police were called to a residence located in the 0 to 100 block of Bannister Manor S.E., for reports of a toddler in medical distress. The child was transported to hospital by EMS, however, life-saving attempts were unsuccessful and the two-year-old girl was declared deceased.
Following an extensive investigation by the Homicide Unit and an autopsy completed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the death was deemed a homicide and the victim has been identified as Olivia Hayden of Calgary.
Olivia Lorraine Hayden was born Jan. 20, 2020, at Peter Lougheed hospital in Calgary, Alberta. She was 2 years and 8 months old when she died on Sept. 29, 2022, in Calgary, Alberta.
Olivia also known as “Liv Liv” survived by her mother Alisha Hayden and her sister Ocean George. She attended Sunvalley daycare where she learned to push her limits, played, and made friends. She was lively, smart and ready to take on the world. She loved to swim and passed her swimming classes with ease.
