On June 7, Winnipeg Police charged Tyron Custer Harper, 30, with second-degree murder in the death of Kevin Delaney Flett, 26, of St. Theresa Point First Nation.
On Feb. 25, 2024, at approximately 11:20 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service had responded to the area of Maryland Street and Wellington Avenue for the report of an injured man.
Downtown General Patrol officers responded, located the male, and provided emergency medical care. He was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The investigation continued by members of the Homicide Unit. It was determined that the deceased was assaulted with a weapon and sustained a fatal injury.
Harper has been detained in custody.
