A 51-year-old Quebec woman, Hayette Bouguellid, is dead and her partner, Mohamed Ali Mosbah, has been charged with second-degree murder.
Police say emergency services were called around 11:30 p.m. Feb. 18, to a home on Ménard Street, near Principale Street, in Saint-Basile-le-Grand, on Montreal’s South Shore for an altercation.
The call to 911 was made by one of the woman’s two children, a teenager and a young adult, who were in the house at the time, according to media reports.
This is the fourth femicide in Quebec since the start of 2024. The third, on Feb. 12 in L’Epiphanie. Two other women were murdered in Vaudreuil in February.
