Cumberland County District RCMP in Nova Scotia charged three people after a break-in and theft of approximately $20,000 tools from a construction site on Princess St. in Springhill.
On Jan. 24, following to a tip from the public, stolen tools were identified online on Facebook Marketplace and officers got a search warrant for a residence on McDougall St. in Springhill. They arrested a man and a woman and seized a large quantity of stolen tools. Multiple hand tools had been stolen, as well as, battery chargers, a table saw and a compressor.
Steven Donaldson, 30, from Springhill, Amy Rogers, 37, from Springhill, have been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and tampering with a serial number.
Michael Ryan, 32, from Springhill, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and trafficking in property obtained by crime.
On Jan. 22, police had responded to a report of a break-in and theft of a large quantity of tools at a construction site. RCMP officers discovered a lock was broken, along with plywood removed from the window.
