LOWER MAINLAND, BC, — A routine check-in led to the arrest of a known youth offender who arrived at their mandatory probation appointment in a stolen vehicle.
On June 4, 2026, Integrated Municipal Provincial Auto Crime Team (IMPACT) identified a stolen F-350 taken on May 31, 2026 displaying stolen license. Officers observed two males associated to the vehicle before watching the known offender exit the residence and get into the passenger seat.
The team followed the pair as they travelled to the offender’s scheduled probation appointment. While the known offender checked in, the driver circled the area around the probation office. Once the offender returned to the truck, the vehicle continued its way toward Abbotsford, operating it carelessly. IMPACT maintained surveillance, and when officers identified a safe opportunity, the team conducted a controlled stop and arrested the individuals without incident.
“This operation highlights how coordinated surveillance and strong partnership directly support community safety” said Sergeant Ben Bruneau, Acting Officer in Charge of IMPACT. “By tracking the stolen vehicle across multiple jurisdictions, our team was able to intervene safely and prevent further risk to the public.”
Both individuals await charges from court.
