BEAUVAL, Sask., – A 28-year-old man from Saskatoon is facing a half-dozen criminal charges after he assaulted officers and damaged a police vehicle.
Beauval RCMP say officers were first called to a residence in the northern Saskatchewan community at approximately 1:30 a.m. on June 8, following reports of a man causing a disturbance.
When police arrived, they learned that an altercation had taken place between the suspect and several individuals at the home. During the confrontation, the accused allegedly damaged a door before leaving the property.
The situation escalated shortly afterward when RCMP received a second complaint that the same male had damaged a police vehicle parked outside another residence in Beauval.
Officers located and arrested the suspect, but the arrest turned violent. Police allege that the man threatened and assaulted the responding officers as they arrested him.
Following an ongoing investigation, Andrew Aubichon, 28, of Saskatoon, has been charged with Resist/obstruct a peace officer, assault on a police officer, two counts of mischief under $5,000 – damage to property, mischief over $5,000 – damage to a motor vehicle, uttering threats against a person, and failing to comply with a probation order.
Aubichon made his first court appearance in Buffalo Narrows on June 10.
