On May 15, Swift Current Municipal RCMP’s General Investigation Section obtained and executed a search warrant at a residence on Prairie Sun Court in Swift Current.
During the search of the residence, officers located and seized approximately 227 grams of methamphetamine, 662 grams of dried cannabis, a sum of cash, drug trafficking paraphernalia, a stun baton, and several imitation firearms.
Two individuals were arrested at the residence.
As a result of the investigation, 35-year-old Travis Lee Smith from Swift Current has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, and two counts, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.
Smith appeared in Swift Current Provincial Court and was remanded into custody until his next appearance on May 22, 2026.
The other individual arrested was released without charge.
Swift Current Rural RCMP, as well as Saskatchewan RCMP’s Saskatchewan Enforcement Response Teams, Critical Incident Response Team and Police Dog Services assisted in the execution of the search warrants.
