Richard Lea, 41, has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Darryl Lambert, 39. Lea has been remanded into custody.
On May 12, Gimli RCMP, along with RCMP Major Crime Services, Forensic Identification Services and the Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant on a property located in Riverton.
As a result of the search, a body was located within a vehicle on the property. Lea, from Riverton, was arrested on scene without incident.
Following the autopsy and completion of the forensic investigation, we can confirm that the human remains located within the vehicle are that of Darryl Lambert, 39, who was reported missing to the Gimli RCMP Detachment on March 17, 2026.
Gimli RCMP, along with the RCMP Major Crime Services and Forensic Identification Services, continue to investigate.
