A 16‑year‑old girl has been identified as the victim of a fatal stabbing in Calgary’s southwest community of Woodlands, as homicide detectives continue to search for the person responsible.
Police were called around 5:40 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, after reports of a stabbing in the 2100 block of Woodview Drive S.W. Officers arrived to find a teenage girl suffering from fatal injuries. She was declared dead at the scene.
Following an autopsy completed Thursday, May 7, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner identified the victim as Angeline Boucher, 16.
Investigators believe an altercation occurred between Boucher and an unknown individual near 24 Street and Woodview Drive S.W. before the attack. Detectives also believe the weapon used in the assault may have been discarded in the surrounding area.
Police are urging residents to be vigilant. Anyone who finds an edged weapon in garbage bins, recycling containers, or nearby green spaces is asked to contact authorities immediately.
At this stage, investigators do not believe the attack was random. No arrests have been made, and officers continue to gather CCTV footage and speak with witnesses as they work to determine what led to the deadly confrontation.
