Motorcycle season has arrived, and with it comes an increased risk of conflict between outlaw biker gangs — prompting a public warning from the Alberta RCMP.
In a media release issued this week, police cautioned Albertans to expect a noticeable rise in Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMG) activity across the province. As the weather warms, members of these gangs will be more visible on provincial roads, highways, and at gas stations, particularly on weekends when planned rides and events are common.
Of particular concern to police is the expansion of the Satan’s Choice Motorcycle Club, which is growing its presence across Canada and specifically throughout Alberta. The RCMP warns that this expansion “has the potential to cause conflict with other dominant OMGs, such as the Hells Angels.”
Albertans are being encouraged to avoid areas with known OMG activity and to keep their distance from gang members if encountered.
The Alberta RCMP, working alongside its policing partners, said it is actively focusing resources on reducing criminal activity linked to these gangs. Police continue to monitor OMG movements and events to help ensure public safety — both for the general public and for motorists sharing the road with gang-affiliated riders.
“We are aware of the potential risks that come with the expansion of groups like Satan’s Choice,” said the RCMP. Authorities urge the public not to intervene but to report any suspicious activity immediately.

If you see a crime in progress, call 911. For non-emergency situations within any Alberta RCMP jurisdiction, the public can call 310-RCMP (7267).
