A driver who accelerated towards a pro-Palestinian demonstrator during a protest at the BC Legislature on Dec. 3 was charged on Dec. 14 with assault with a weapon and dangerous driving.
Victoria police say the man is in custody. They didn’t identify him.
Police say he drove his vehicle onto the sidewalk in the 600-block of Menzies Street, nearly striking a demonstrator. The man was arrested by on-site VicPD Public Safety Unit officers.
