Kelowna, B.C. – Police are asking for the public’s assistance after a series of suspicious fires were reported in Gopher Creek Linear Park.
The Kelowna RCMP is actively investigating the incidents and is seeking witnesses or anyone with information that could help identify those responsible. According to the media release, investigators believe the fires were deliberately set and are treating the matter as suspicious.
“We are urging anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the fires, or who has dashcam or cellphone footage, to come forward,” police stated. The RCMP have not yet confirmed the extent of the damage to the park or whether any injuries occurred.
Authorities are asking nearby residents and park users to remain vigilant. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact the Kelowna RCMP non-emergency line or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
