YORKTON, Sask., — Yorkton RCMP are asking for the public’s help after an inmate escaped from the Whitespruce Provincial Training Centre Thursday evening.
Police received a report of the escape at approximately 7:05 p.m. on May 14. Investigators determined that Duncan Highway, 34, was last seen at the facility just over an hour earlier, at 6:15 p.m.
According to RCMP, a black GMC Terrain SUV was observed picking up Highway after he left the training centre. Officers have since been searching locations the inmate is known to frequent and following up on tips from the public.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, Highway has been formally charged with being unlawfully at large.
Highway is described as approximately 6’1” tall and 178 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing black clothing. Police note he has connections to Saskatoon, but his current whereabouts remain unknown.
