Zachary Taylor Bruce, Koltin Charles-Rumsey, and Kael Jarome Bruce arrested
In February of 2026, Grande Prairie RCMP Municipal Drug Unit initiated an illicit drug trafficking investigation. Three suspects were identified and the evidence gathered led to two search warrants being obtained and executed on Feb. 26, 2026, at two separate residences in Grande Prairie, with assistance from Grande Prairie Police Service, Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams, and Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services.
As a result of the search, the following items were seized:
- 144 grams of cocaine;
- 178 grams of methamphetamine;
- A liter of GHB;
- 5 handguns,
- 1 loaded Ruger 10/22 rifle
- Over $15,000 in Canadian currency;
- 86,000 contraband cigarettes;
- Drug trafficking paraphernalia;
- A 2019 Audi SQ5; and
- A 2024 Toyota Landcruiser;
Investigators suspect the handguns were smuggled into the country and are working closely with National Weapons Enforcement Support Team to determine their origin as well as the potential for additional charges.
As a result of the investigation, Zachary Taylor Bruce (22), Koltin Charles-Rumsey (20) and Kael Jarome Bruce (24), all residents of Grande Prairie, were arrested.
- Zachary Bruce and Koltin Rumsey were charged with:
- Possession of controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (x3);
- Possession of proceeds of crime over $5000;
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; and
- Other firearms-related offences (x13).
- Kael Bruce was charged with:
- Possession of proceeds of crime over $5000;
- Possession of unstamped tobacco for the purpose of trafficking; and
- Possession of unstamped tobacco products.
All three were brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody. They are to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie on March. 2, 2026.
