The Kelowna RCMP has released new details regarding a violent incident that occurred Friday afternoon in the 1900-block of Enterprise Way, resulting in the death of one woman and serious injury to another.
Police were called to the scene at approximately 12:54 p.m. on July 4 after reports of a motor vehicle incident followed by an assault involving a weapon. Officers arrested a male suspect after a brief pursuit, while two female victims were transported to hospital with significant injuries.
One of the victims, identified as Bailey Plover, later died from her injuries. The second woman remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
On July 5, the BC Prosecution Service approved a charge of second-degree murder against James Edward Plover, who was known to the deceased. The Kelowna RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit continues to investigate the case in collaboration with prosecutors.
Plover remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on July 10.

” said Inspector Chris Goebel, Acting Officer in Charge of the Kelowna RCMP.
