The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Homicide Section has laid charges in relation to a homicide that occurred on Dec. 8, 2020.
On May 8, following a lengthy and complex investigation, Homicide detectives have issued warrants for first degree murder for Amiir Hussen, 27 and Saed Osman, 30.
At approximately 3 p.m. on Dec. 8, 2020, Downtown Division officers responded to a weapons complaint in the area of 109 Street and 109 Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located an injured male. EMS responded to the scene, but the man victim, Mahad Bashir Farah, 25, died as a result of a gunshot wound.
Hussen is currently in custody for unrelated charges. He is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Leslie Victor John Whitebear in Regina in 2022.
Hussen was arrested in Edmonton in February and remains in custody.
But Osman remains at large and is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for a 2022 homicide. In November 2022, a $50,000 reward was offered for information on Osman’s whereabouts. He was wanted in relation to the death of Imbert George, 28, who was killed in a shooting at Ertale Lounge on 118 Avenue and 124 Street on March 12, 2022.
In that incident, police say about about 70 bullets were fired and seven other people were injured.
Osman, who is from Ontario, also goes by the alias Guled Osman and the nickname “Styles.”
