RCMP have arrested and charged a 32-year-old Lloydminster man after he was allegedly caught cutting electrical wires in a back alley in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
At approximately 4:57 a.m. on April 30, Lloydminster RCMP responded to a 911 call reporting a male cutting wires on power line poles in the back alley of 44 Street, between 56 Avenue and 57B Avenue. Officers arrived on scene and arrested a lone male, later identified as Travis Lee Fraser. A search following his arrest uncovered hand tools and copper wire in his possession.
Lloydminster RCMP, with the assistance of Lloydminster General Investigation Section, have charged Fraser, 32, of Lloydminster, with possession of property obtained by crime, theft under $5,000, mischief under $5,000, possession of break-in instruments, and failure to comply with a probation order.
Fraser was brought before a justice of the peace who released him on conditions. He is to appear before the Lloydminster Provincial Court on May 6, 2025.
