Man shot to death in Sundre, RCMP Major Crimes investigating

Sundre RCMP and the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit are investigating a suspicious death in Mountain View County.

At Approximately 12:17 pm on Jan. 25, Sundre RCMP were dispatched to a report of a man that had been shot Northwest of Sundre. Officers attended and found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Life-saving efforts were attempted at the scene and the male was transported to local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation.

An autopsy is scheduled to take place at the Calgary Medical Examiner’s office on Jan. 26. An update will be provided when results of the autopsy are known.
