Eric Oliha, of no fixed address, accused of raping women in Toronto bathrooms

One woman was raped and a second got away. Police believe there are more victims

Toronto man Eric Oliha, 42, of no fixed address, is accused of violently assaulting women in bathrooms at businesses. People believe there may be more victims.

Toronto Police say that on Dec. 30, Oliha allegedly slid along the floor in the bathroom of a restaurant in the Spadina Avenue / Queen Street West area and prevented a woman from leaving the stall then sexually assaulted her.

The woman tried using her phone to call for help but he forcibly took it from her. He also demanded cash and stole items from her. Staff were alerted to a commotion in the locked washroom and kicked down the door. The man fled but was arrested by officers after a foot chase.

In another incident on Dec. 11, police say that Oliha went to a local business in the Bloor Street West and Clinton Area at closing time and tried several times to lure a woman into a washroom under false pretenses. She tried to leave the store but was assaulted. Oliha then locked the door and turned lights out. The woman screamed and was able to escape. Witnesses helped her.

Oliha has been charged with two counts of forcible confinement, assault, sexual assault, obtain services by false pretenses, two counts of robbery and two counts of breach of probation.

He appeared in Toronto Regional Bail Centre on Jan. 2.
