Ever wonder what happens to your stolen vehicle?

If you ever wonder what happens to stolen vehicles, they could be shipped out of country for illegal sale.

Last week, Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA) officers along with the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) Region Intelligence recovered 17 stolen vehicles destined for export with an estimated value of over $1 million.

CBSA didn’t say which country the vehicles were to be exported to but in February, York Police recovered about 64 stolen vehicles valued at $3.5 million from across the world that were stolen in the GTA. They were found in shipping containers in the Republic of Malta and were ready to be sold illegally. The vehicles were brought back to Canada with help from CBSA and the Malta Port Authority.
