After finding Preston Desjardin sleeping in a running vehicle at a gas station, Okotoks RCMP charged him with drug trafficking and weapons offences.
In the early morning of Dec. 12, Okotoks RCMP were patrolling the city and saw a man sleeping in his running vehicle at a gas station. During their investigation, the vehicle was searched and police found 105 grams of methamphetamine, 50 grams of MDMA, 40 tablets of LSD, 150 grams of improperly packaged cannabis products, $445 cash and scales, and a prohibited extendable baton, canisters of bear spray, and a pellet gun.
Desjardin, 19, was charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and unauthorized possession of a weapon.
Desjardin is scheduled to appear at Alberta Court of Justice in Okotoks on Feb. 2, 2024.
